On Monday evening, July 12th at our Department meeting, Ex-Chief John McCoy was presented a proclamation from TOH Councilman Edward Smyth and the TOH Board.
The proclamation honored our Ex-Chief and FDNY Firefighter John McCoy for his heroic rescue of a victim trapped in a warehouse fire on January 21, 2019.
The proclamation, presented by Councilman Smyth, explained in detail the heroic rescue that John made. He also stated that at a recent FDNY Award Ceremony, John received the “Chief of Department Peter J. Ganci, Jr. Medal”.
After Councilman Smyth’s presentation Chief Wayne Kaifler, Jr., along with 1st Asst. Chief Steven Macedonio and Captain Bryan Gosik presented a plaque to Ex-Chief John McCoy from our department honoring him for that heroic rescue with the FDNY.
Another plaque will be hung in our firehouse to honor Ex-Chief John McCoy for his heroic rescue with the FDNY in January 2019.
