On Wednesday May 18th, 2016, ENFD firefighters attended the Suffolk County Fire Academy for a course on Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) The program addressed the hazards, properties and uses of LP gas along with the operations prescribed for handling emergency situations. Strategies and tactics used in response to incidents were reviewed. Typical storage methods for the product were reviewed as well as detailed descriptions of various transport vehicles in use both in and around our response area. Common layouts of fixed facilities, both manufacturing and dispensing were discussed. Case histories were presented for analysis and discussion.
