Second Working Fire in a month


On Saturday afternoon January 28, 2017 at 4:21pm The East Northport Fire Department responded to a Working Residential Structure Fire on Arleigh Rd.

Under the command of Chief Dan Flanagan (2-10-31) and Chief Tom Bourne (2-10-32), crews worked to extinguish a heavy fire load in an attached garage of a private house.

Due to the quick actions of members, the fire was extinguished with minimal extension to other areas of the structure and property damage was kept to a minimum. The scene was deemed under control in 40 minutes. One civilian was evaluated by EMS at the scene for smoke inhalation

ENFD operated with 3 Engines, 1 aerial ladder, 3 ambulances, 1 Paramedic unit, 1 fire police unit, 2 rehab/support units as well as the Cyanide Response Team provided by Paramedics from the Dix Hills Fire Department Greenlawn Fire Department and Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Mutual aid was provided by the Kings Park Fire Department with a FAST team at the scene and the Northport Volunteer Fire Department to stand by with an Engine and Ambulance to handle additional alarms.
