ENFD uses real vehicles for extrication training

On Wednesday, June 15th, members of the East Northport Fire Department participated in an extrication training drill. The drill was organized as a collaboration between the Hook and Ladder Company and The Rescue Squad.

Three vehicles were staged in order for the members could practice their extraction techniques as well as practice how to care for patients once removed from those vehicles. One vehicle was staged as a "roll over", while the other two were positioned as if involved in a major motor vehicle collision.

The members were able to use all the tools and techniques as they would in a real extraction situation. It is through constant trainings such as these that the East Northport Fire Department stays ready to serve the community and its citizens.
