14-35 Working Car Fire

On December 15th the ENFD responded to a reported car fire on Maplehill Dr. 1st Asst. Chief Bruce Gosik arrived first and found 2 cars on fire with the fire impinging on a 3rd. Quick response from the ENFD stopped the spread of the fast moving fire. Photos by ENFD Photo Unit

13-35 Working Structure Fire

On Sunday September 17, 2006 the East Northport Fire Department responded to a report of a working structure fire. A Member on scene reported the working fire to dispatch prior to being activated. First in chiefs reported a well advanced fire in the rear of a 2 story private dwelling. Engine 2-10-4 was first in stretched 2 lines and began an attack on the fire. Engine 2-10-1 was second in and hit the hydrant. Ladder 2-10-2 followed and set up for roof ventilation. Mutual Aid was requested from Greenlawn FD for a Fast team and Kings Park FD and Centerport Rescue to standby. Under the command of 1st Asst Chief Bruce Gosik and 2nd Asst Chief John McCoy ENFD responded with 2 engines, 1 ladder, 1 rescue, 1 ambulance and 1 fire police vehicle. This was the first working fire for the new Engine 2-10-4 placed into service 3 weeks ago. Photos By Bryan Gosik

13/35 Working Structure Fire

On Thursday August 3, 2006, the East Northport Fire Department responded to a report of a electrical box fire in a house being renovated. Upon arrival of 1st Asst. Chief Bruce Gosik, the fire had extended up the wall and into the attic. Chief Gosik advised dispatch to reactivate for a working fire and for a mutual aid from Commack FD for one engine due to the 100 degree weather. Engine 2-10-12 was first in and began an attack on the fire. Engine 2-10-1 was second in and hit the hydrant. Crews from both East Northport engines and Commack Engine 2-11-12 went to work as Ladder 2-10-2 and Rescue 2-10-3 arrived and was given the job of venting the roof. Mutual Aid was requested from Kings Park FD for a Fast team in addition to Commack. Under the command of Chief Bill Gilman and 1st Asst Chief Bruce Gosik ENFD responded with 2 engines, 1 ladder, 1 rescue, 3 ambulances and 1 fire police vehicle Photos By Bryan Gosik

14/13/35 Vehicle w/ Extension to Structure

On July 16th the ENFD responded to a reported car fire in the vicinity of Harrison Dr. First arriving units found a car fire in close proximity to the house which had caused the house to ignite. Firefighters quickly doused both fires before severe damage could be caused to the house. Photos By Bryan Gosik

Signal 16-23 Motor Vehicle Accident

On July 14, 2006 at 4:30 pm the East Northport Fire Department responded to reports of a motor vehicle accident with an overturn at the intersection of 3rd Ave and 1st St. Units found an SUV on its side and small car. Under the command of Chief Bill Gilman and Assistant Chiefs Bruce Gosik and John McCoy 3 ambulances, one engine, one rescue, and a fire police vehicle responded to the alarm. 3 victims were transported by East Northport Rescue. On May 6th the ENFD responded to a call for help of an individual who had climbed to his roof and become injured and unable to descend from the roof. ENFD responded and aided the individual and was treated by ENFD Rescue Photos By Bryan Gosik

On April 13th the ENFD was called to the Commack FD to aid them in fighting a fast moving brush fire to the rear of the indian hollow school. ENFD sent 1 brush truck to the scene. Photos by Bryan Gosik

On March 25, 2006 at 2:55 pm the East Northport Fire Department responded to reports of a garage fire at 32 Forest Dr. First due units encountered a smoke condition in the garage as well as inside the dwelling. Under the command of 1st Asst. Chief Bruce Gosik and 2nd Asst. Chief John McCoy two engines, one rescue, one ladder, one ambulance and a fire police vehicle responded to the alarm.
