Signal 13-35 Working Fire
Hewitt Square Larkfield and Pulaski
 
Members of the East Northport FD responded to a commercial fire at the Hewitt Square Strip Mall. Upon arrival of first due chiefs the East Northport FD knew they were in for something. The members encountered heavy smoke, flames and intense heat. The fire originating in the 30-minute photo then moved to the dry cleaners adjacent to it. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to just the two stores saving the remainder of the stores attached. Under the command of Chief Tom Mattos and 2nd Assistant Chief Bruce Gosik over 80 members from East Northport, Northport, Greenlawn, Commack, Kings Park and Centerport, the fire was brought under control after two hours. The building being weakened by the intense heat and flames partially collapsed. Damage was reported in the five other stores. Unfortunately one body was recovered in the dry cleaners. Larkfield and 5th Ave
 
Members of the East Northport FD responded to a report of a MVA with two cars involved. Upon Arrival, first due units found themselves with one car half on the pavement and half on the second car. The accident occurred on Tuesday, October 14, at the corner of Larkfield Rd and 5th Ave. Under the command of 2nd Asst. Chief Bruce Gosik, 20 Fire and Rescue were dispatched with a Heavy Rescue, Ambulance and a Fire Police Unit. No Injuries were reported. Photos By Bryan Gosik

Signal 23 Car Into House
Larkfield and Fairlee
 
In August, members of the East Northport FD responded to a report of a car into a building on Larkfield Rd. and Fairlee Dr. Upon arrival of first due rigs, the members found themselves with a small red Nissan half inside and half outside the home. Under the command of Chief Tom Mattos and 2nd Asst. chief Bruce Gosik, 20 Fire and Rescue personnel were dispatched with one engine, one heavy rescue and an ambulance. East Northport Rescue Squad transported the victim to Huntington Hospital. There was no one home at the time of the accident. Photos By Bryan Gosik

February 28, 2003 - 2130 Hours

On Friday, Feb.28, 2003 at 21:30 the East Northport Fire Department responded to a report of a 16-23 motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival the members found a yellow 2003 mustang into a tree, with 2 victims inside. The first victim was removed, and transported to Huntington Hospital by the East Northport Rescue Squad. The second victim, the driver, was found pinned from the knee down. The call under the command of 1st Assistant Chief Bill Gilman, 2nd Assistant Chief Bruce Gosik, and assistance from the S.C.P.D. E.S. the members worked together using Multiple Hurst Tool units to free the driver from his car. He also was transported to Huntington Hospital by the East Northport Rescue squad with the help of the Centerport rescue squad. Many thanks to Centerport for A.L.S. at the scene.
